Urea bags distributed to farmers

Imphal, July 23 2024: The Federation of Civil Society Organisation (FOCS), Bishnupur District Committee in collaboration with the Department of Agriculture, Government of Manipur distributed about 200 Urea bags to farmers at Ningthoukhong Kha-Khunou, Bishnupur District on Tuesday.

The Urea bags were distributed under the aegis of FOCS Manipur, said a release.

At the event, FOCS Manipur president Th Manihar said that many farmers whose paddy fields are in the Red Zone are unable to carry out their agricultural activities safely due to the constant threat of attack from armed militants.

"Following the recent disturbances in the National Highways, farmers are apprehensive about the possible shortage of fertilizers", he added.

He asserted that FOCS Manipur in collaboration with the Department of Agriculture provided the Urea fertilizer to help the farmers who are facing a lot of difficulties.

Further, Th Manihar appealed to the Department of Agriculture to provide their cooperation in conducting similar events in the future.
