Imphal, July 23 2020: Troops of Assam Rifles under the aegis of HQ IGAR (South) recovered cartons of foreign cigarettes and betel nuts from Choktong-Rilram Centre road in Tengnoupal district yesterday morning at around 8 .

Troops of Assam Rifles personnel were conducting checking at the Mobile Vehicle Check Post on Choktong-Rilram Centre road when individuals riding three Kenbo bikes dropped the cartons they were carrying and fled.

The personnel recovered forty cartons of foreign cigarettes and 55 kilograms of betel nuts.

The recovered items have been handed over to Custom Office, Pallel for further investigation, said a statement of PRO IGAR (South) .
