Man posing as HSLC question setter nabbed

Imphal, December 22 2024: Volunteers of the Democratic Students' Alliance of Manipur (DESAM) apprehended one Laishram Rajesh, on the charge of luring people by claiming self as question setter for the upcoming HSLC examination- 2025 conducted by the Board of Secondary Education Manipur (BOSEM).

The said person has been handed over to the police along with fake appointment letters.

Before handing him over to Singjamei police, Laishram Rajesh was paraded before media persons at DESAM's Kwakeithel office on Sunday during which DESAM general secretary Nongthonbam Thoithoiba disclosed the dubious activities of Rajesh.

He said that Rajesh, who is incumbent principal of Brilliant Academy, Thoubal, had been approaching parents as well as students preparing for the HSLC with the offer to join coaching classes at Sunshine Coaching Centre, Minuthong and Mind Power Coaching Centre, Patsoi, claiming that he a faculty member of the centres.

Stating that Rajesh's sole intention was to earn easy money by impressing the parents and students that he is question setter for the HSLC exam-2025 of BOSEM, the general secretary maintained that Rajesh developed the fake appointment letter through photoshop application.

According to Thoithoiba, Rajesh was found in possession of two fake appointment letters, one for English subject and another for science subject, and offered 'special class' at the two coaching centres.

Meanwhile, Laishram Rajesh revealed to media persons that he used the fake appointment letter to the impress the students get enrolled in the two coaching centres, along with claiming that he got in possession of format of the appointment letter when he went with former BOSEM Akham Joykumar to Guwahati last year.
