Cabinet approves honorarium hike for AWWs, AWHs, ASHA workers

A meeting of the state cabinet chaired by chief minister N Biren has approved enhancement of monthly honorarium for Anganwadi Workers (AWWs), Anganwadi Helpers (AWHs) and ASHA workers.
Speaking to media after the cabinet meeting held on Monday morning at the CM's secretariat, government spokesperson and works minister Th Biswajit informed that the decision to enhance the honorarium for Anganwadi Workers (AWWs), Anganwadi Helpers (AWHs) and ASHA workers was taken in recognition of their service towards the public as a link between the government and the public.
As per the cabinet decision, honorarium for AWWs and ASHA workers will be enhanced by Rs 1000 while honorarium for AWHs will be increased by Rs 600.Biswajit also said that keeping in line with the grant of power to the ADC members, whose term had expired, as in-charge, the cabinet approved empowering of corporators and councillors of urban local bodies, whose term had expired, to function as in-charge of their respective ULBs.
He further informed that the cabinet approved renaming of revenue department to land resources department as the government is treating land as a resource for the state.
Monday's cabinet gave formal approval to the recently launched Chief Minister's Widow Pension Scheme and to enhance the monthly pension amount of the state government's existing Indira Gandhi Widow Pension Scheme from Rs 200 to Rs 500 .
The cabinet further approved promotion of Padmashri award winning footballer Oinam Bembem to the rank of Deputy Superintendent of Police, and appointment of state boxer Samjetsabam Sarjubala as inspector in the state police department,
