Imphal, October 22 2020:
After the election RO rejected his nomination paper yesterday, Manipur People's Party's candidate Moirangthem Totomshana (Nongshaba) has claimed that his documents were not "received" by the RO even though it was submitted during the hours of the scrutiny.
In a statement he released today, Totomshana alleged that he "is a candidate of the MPP" but was wrongly published in newspapers as an Independent candidate.
He alleged that he had submitted some missing papers during the scrutiny hours yesterday, but the RO refused to receive them.
In addition, a person who was identified as ADM had allegedly told him to choose any symbol other than 'cycle' which is the symbol of the MPP, he claimed adding action should be taken up against the RO concerned.
It may be noted that Totomshana's nomination paper was rejected yesterday during the scrutiny for the by-elections on November 7 .
He had filed nomination from Wangoi Assembly Constituency.
The scrutiny yesterday had cleared nomination papers of BJP candidate and Agriculture Minister Oinam Lukhoi, Congress candidate Salam Joy and NPP candidate Kh Loken.
