Imphal, September 22 2011: In amidst the ongoing economic blockades on the National Highways by SHDDC and UNC, 1015 freight trucks have left Imphal today under heavy security escort for Jiribam.

A team of Transporters and Drivers' Council (TDC) including one dozer, one crane and an ambulance led by its president Hijam Ranjit also accompanied the column.

Meanwhile, an empty truck has felt into the gorge at Hengjon area injuring its driver and handyman.

The two were admitted to hospital for treatment.

In another incident, a JCB dozer of MSRTC has also felt into a 200 metre deep gorge at Kambiron area injuring its driver and the assistant driver.

They were admitted at RIMS hospitals after administering first aid by a doctor at Noney Keithel.
