Imphal, July 22 2020: A team of Kakching district commando arrested a 48-year-old woman along with heroin powder and Rs 56,000 in cash yesterday.

The alleged drug trafficker identified as Jamila (45), w/o Md Baniyam was arrested from her residence at Sora Maning Leikai.

The contraband items were allegedly found in the bedroom of Jamila, said police.

The arrested woman along with the seized items have been handed over to Kakching Police Station for necessary legal action under ND&PS Act, said police.

Meanwhile, a team of Kakching police seized 391.5 gram of brown sugar from three individuals while performing duty at Kuraopokpi, near Power House on July 21, said a statement issued by Kakching SP, Victoria Yengkhom.

The three individuals were identified as Md Samir Khan (23), S/o Md Nahachouba of Sora Mamang Leikai, at present Moreh Ward no 7, Md Firoz Khan (25), S/o (L) Md Siraj Ahamed and Amit Acharjee alias Rahul (25), S/o Muthukanan of Moreh Ward no 7, Tengnoupal.

Stating that one Bolero along with two mobile handsets and an Aadhaar Card were also seized from them by observing formalities, the SP added that the three persons and the seized items have been handed over to Kakching Police Station.
