Kangpokpi, March 22 2018:
In an interesting and shocking twist, a non-existent school in Senapati district was allegedly upgraded to Higher Secondary School which the Senapati District Students' Association (SDSA) recently unearthed the non-existence of such school in the District Headquarters.
Irked over the untraceable Senapati Higher Secondary School, the SDSA sought clarification from the concerned department and asked to locate the school and to identify the headmaster, teachers and students as well.
Speaking to media persons at its office at Senapati District HQs today, SDSA vice president, James Hao said that the news about the existence of one Senapati Higher Secondary School was learnt from a reliable source.
The student body, even after thorough inspection, could not trace the said Senapati Higher Secondary School which not only shocked the student body but also the public at large, asserted James Hao.
He said, "It is also more shocking to learn that there is not a single high school in Senapati District HQs till now despite its capability and it is more unfortunate for the people of the district to have such non-existent higher secondary school" .
The vice president questioned the nature and action of the State Government over the issue.
Meanwhile, SDSA said that if the education department had established and upgraded the school, it should be transformed into a full-fledged Higher Secondary School with adequate teaching facilities, teaching staff, proper classrooms and basic infrastructures by the next calendar.
James Hao further asserted that if the Government could come up with the clarification and identified the Senapati Higher Secondary School, it should not make any attempt to shift it from the District Headquarters.
He cautioned that SDSA will not tolerate any attempt to shift the Senapati Higher Secondary from Senapati District Headquarters if it really exist in the district.
