Imphal, August 21 2020: DC Bishnupur has declared the Sabal Mamang Leikai under Nambol police station as a containment zone from today onwards after a resident was found COVID-19 positive.

Following the detection of the case and in view of the impending threat of the COVID-19 pandemic, the DC has ordered to take up containment measures with immediate effect in the said area.

The measures include sealing of the geographical area; entry and exit of the population from the containment area; banning of a public gathering of any type, vehicular movement and initiation of active surveillance of COVID-19 cases.

As per the order of the DC, the containment zone is flanked by Tiddim Road in the east, homestead land of P Anand in the West, Konakhong Maril in the North and pond (near crematorium ground) in the South.

The order further stated that any person, institution or organisation found to be violating any of the measures shall be deemed to have committed an offence punishable under Section 188 of the Indian Penal Code, 1860 .
