Souvenir of Tribal Cultural Festival released

Imphal, August 21 2012: The state Tribal Affairs Minister today released the souvenir of the 'First State Level Tribal Cultural Festival, November 18th & 19th, 2011' and launched another website for Tribal Research Institute, Manipur (TRI), Government of Manipur at the minister's office chamber, Secreatriat here.

Speaking on the ocassion, Minister Gaikhangam said the value of the TRI will continue to develop in a specific way forever and asserted the identity of the original tribals is losing its ground and many diverse cultures are being seen as original.

"We need to understand the original old background of our culture and everything should be pursued after having the knowledge of the past, present and future," Gaikham who also holds the post of Home Minister stressed.

At the fucntion, MLAs Presho Shimray, DK Korungthang, Victor Keishing, Yamthong Haokip, Vunzaging Valte, Kikhonbou Newmai and Lumingthang Haokip, Director, Tribal Affairs and Hills also took part.
