Imphal, May 21 2015 :
As per the resolution of the All Manipur Christian Organisation (AMCO) meeting held on May 12 at MBC Tyranus Hall, the organization has urged the people to vote with prudence in the coming Autonomous District Council (ADC) election.
A statement of the organization urged the people to make a free and fair election by voting for the candidates of their choice.
It said, "Judas Iscariot sold Jesus for 30 pieces of silver, so also let us not sell our rights, our Christian principles and even our Lord for one vote.
Let's practise our faith in our voting too.
Let's not sell our vote for money or any other benefit or indulge in proxy voting" .
AMCO said, "Let's be aware.
Any person resorting to booth capturing or offering money for your vote is not working for the common good of the people.
They are agents of of selfishness and lawlessness.
It's against the law of the land, against our Christian faith and principle.
Polling centres become a place of semi-Armageddon.
God is watching, on which side you stand" .
It further appealed to every voter not to be partaker with such agents and to pray for them that they worship the Lord in spirit and truth.
"Let's show them the right way with our lives" .
The organization also appealed to all believers to spend May 24 (Sunday) in Church Fasting and praying for the upcoming ADC election, informing that the Seventh-Day Adventist and other Sabbath observers will be fasting and praying on May 23 (Saturday) .
A blessing prayer for the ADC election candidates will be held on May 25 at 11 am at MBC Centre Church, Imphal, it informed and said all candidates are invited to the event.
