Court acquits 4 accused in Roger murder case

Imphal, May 21 2012:
Out of five accused in the sensational murder of Irom Roger (20) on March 20 last year at Ghari along Imphal Airport Road, four of them have been discharged by an order of Session Judge, Manipur East, which is also a Special Court of the CBI.
According to a highly reliable source, the four accused persons who have been discharged are Bachaspatimayum Roshini Kumar alias Tolly of Brahamapur Thangapat Mapal; Soram Raju of Nagamapal Soram Leirak; Thongbam Anilkumar alias Dhruba of Thangmeiband Maisnam Leikai and Puyam Sidhartha alias Boy of Singjamei Mayengbam Oinam Leirak.
Accordingly, the bail bond and surety bonds of all the four have been cancelled.
The charged hearing of the prime accused Nongthombam Ajay (25), s/o Nongthombam Biren of Luwangsangbam Mamang Leikai will be conducted on May 23, according to the order issued by the CBI Special Court.
The source further stated that after the CBI investigated into the murder case of Irom Roger (20) s/o Irom Lokendro on March 20, 2011 at Ghari along Imphal Airport road around 2:00 pm, a charge sheet was submitted to the court of CJM of Imphal West.
The charge-sheet of the CBI maintained that since sufficient evidences could not be collected against the four associates of the prime accused, namely Soram Raj Singh of Nagamapal Soram Leirak, Bachaspatimayum Roshinikumar Sharma alias Tolly of Brahmapur Thangapat Mapal, Thongbam Anilkumar alias Dhruba of Thangmeiband Maisnam Leikai and Puyam Shihartha alias Boy of Singjamei Mayengbam Leikai Oinam Thingel Leirak, they may be discharged from the case.
