DOAK negates report of boycott of ex-MLA

Imphal, September 20 2021: With reference to viral circulation of a video showing unruly scenes in front of the ex-MLA Th Shyamkumar's house at Yambem on the social media, Development Organisation, Andro Kendra (DOAK) has refuted the claim of boycotting the ex-MLA of Andro Assembly Constituency by local lesidents of Yairipok Yambem.

Addressing a press meet in this regard, DOAK youth president Sharungbam Bimol said that Th Shyamkumar chaired a meeting of youth of Yairipok Yambem on Sunday 5 pm which was followed by a dinner.

After the dinner, as Shyamkumar was about to leave for his official residence in imphal, some workers of Lourembam Sanjay pelted stones at his vehicle while taking advantage of the darkness.

The situation was controlled by imphal East Commandos, who rushed in to the area on receiving information of the incident.

He then said that there is no such decision of Yairipok Yambem people to ban entry of Shyamkumar in the locality.

The viral video was circulated by some people with vested interests to mislead the public and take political mileage, he said and appealed to the public to participate in the election in a fair manner but not to use false propaganda to mislead the public.
