Thoubal, July 20 2024: Thoubal District Cook Union has urged the Government to discuss the long pending demand of cooks under Mid Day Meal Scheme to hike their honorarium in the upcoming State Assembly session.

Addressing media persons during a press meet held at Thoubal Athokpam yesterday, All Manipur Cook Union Thoubal District Branch secretary Laishram Latari urged the Government to address the grievances of the cooks of Mid Day Meal Scheme who have been working for the past 20 years on minimal honorarium.

Highlighting that the monthly honorarium of the cooks is way below the normal standard, Latari said that it has become extremely difficult to survive on this meagre income.

Considering the plights of these cooks, she urged the Government to discuss the issue in the upcoming State Assembly session and actualise their demands by increasing their honorarium for the welfare of the cooks.
