Ksh Sopen appointed AIRTWF WC member

Imphal, July 20 2022:
The 11th national conference of All India Road Transport Workers' Federation (AIRTWF), which is one of the largest transport workers' federations in the country, held in Hisar city, Haryana on July 18 appointed Kshetrimayum Sopen as working committee member of the federation.
Speaker at the conference denounced the government for its attempt to enforce labour code, saying it is against the interest of
workers and the move to abolish transport departments from several states.
It further resolved to oppose the Motor Vehicle Act (Amendment), 2019 and demand for providing social security and other benefits
to transport motor vehicle workers.
During the conference, delegates from Manipur highlighted the plight of interstate road transport workers along national highways particularly the threats faced from both
state and non-state actors.
The 11th conference appointed Nepaldev Bhattachariya as president, KK Divakaran as working president, R Lakshmaya as general secretary and Kshetrimayum Sopen as working committee member.
