Assam Rifles conducts joint employment mela

Imphal, January 20 2020:
Mantripukhri Battalion of 9 Sector Assam Rifles under the aegis of HQ IGAR (South) organised a joint employment mela as part of Op Sadbhavana Project at Tezpur Chingarel village in Imphal East district today.
The mela aims to generate awareness among the youths and the students on multitude of professional options and opportunities available in various fields, said PRO, IGAR.
As part of the event, a career guidance programme was organised with assistance from various Govt organisations, private firms and NGOs in Imphal.
Various Govt bodies of Agriculture, Animal Husbandry, Fisheries and Forest Department set up their respective stalls and educated the youths regarding job opportunities and career options available to them.
Many NGOs (in the field of hospitality, horticulture and food industry) along with private firms such as Tata Motors also participated in the programme.
Over 350 students and youth from various schools and colleges participated, who were also educated on various career option available to them in Indian Armed Forces.
Information regarding lifestyle, work environment of an Armed Forces personnel and insight about accompanying facilities, pay and allowances were also given to the students.
All the attendees expressed gratitude to the Battalion for undertaking the initiative and appreciated the efforts of Assam Rifles in reaching out to the youth.
Kakching Battalion of 28 sector under the aegis of HQ IGAR (South) also organised a joint employment mela under Operation Sadbhavana at Library and Information Centre, Kakching yesterday.
The event was successfully conducted with collaborative efforts of various professionals from North East and security forces deployed in Manipur, said PRO, IGAR.
The employment mela aims to generate awareness among the youths and students of Kakching regarding the multitude employment opportunities available in today's progressive world.
Experts from School of Skill Development in Hospitality Gurgaon, Civil Administration, Bachelor of Legislative Law, Medical, Forest Department, BSF, 109 CRPF Battalion, Mongsangei and dignitaries from other fields shared their advice and procedures to be follow for availing the options as per qualifications and interest.
A total of 18 speakers from CRPF, BSF, Army, Navy, Air Force and Assam Rifles also motivated the youth to join the forces and serve the Nation.
The event witnessed a total of 270 students/youth attended the mela.
