Imphal, January 20 2018: Imphal West and Imphal East district police conducted cordon and house to house search operations at various parts of the two district today, as security measures ahead of the coming Republic Day celebration.

According to a reliable source, Imphal West district police carried out house to house search operations at Yaiskul Hiruhunba Leikai and Moirangkhom Sougaijam Leirak Nambul Mapal, today morning.

During the operation, around than 150 houses were searched by the police team and more than 350 individuals were verified.

No one was detained during the operation.

On the other hand, Imphal East district police also carried out cordon and house to house search operations at KR Lane and Hatta area, under Porompat police station today morning.

More than 300 individuals, including 92 females, were verified by the police team.

Four individuals without proper ID proofs were picked up and handed over to Porompat PS for proper verification.
