State legs 14 fresh Covid cases

Imphal, December 19 2021:
The state on Sunday reported zero death case and 14 new positive cases of Covid-19 out of 1206 samples tested in the last 24 hours, registering a positivity rate of 1.16 per cent against 0.97 per cent recorded on Saturday.
The active caseload has come down to 195 as 22 patients were discharged from home isolation (12), JNIMS (3) and CCCs (7) in the last 24 hours.
Only four districts reported fresh Covid cases on Sunday with Imphal East having highest number of positive cases with six cases.
So far, the state has recorded 96,227 positive cases and 1621 fatalities since the beginning of the second wave of the pandemic.
The current month reported 422 new positive cases and 18 fatalities.
According to official reports, all the 14 fresh cases (6 male & 8 female) are from among the general population and their samples were confirmed at RIMS (2) and other testing centres (12) .
The positive cases are from Imphal East (6), Imphal West (4), Thoubal (3) and Bishnupur (1).All precautionary measures like containment and contact tracing are in place.
The cumulative number of positive cases has reached 1,25,627 (general population - 1,21,194 and CAPF personnel - 4,433) .
Number of recovered cases is 1,23,437 (general population - 1,19,010 and CAPF personnel - 4,427) and number of active cases is 195 (general population - 194 and CAPF personnel - 1) .
The recovery rate is 98.26 per cent.
A total of 306 D-type and 72 B-type Oxygen cylinders have been made available to different health facilities in the last 24 hours.
In all, 4918 Covid-19 vaccine doses were administered on Saturday which took the cumulative number of vaccinated people to 13,11,232 including 9,56,975 fully vaccinated individuals.
As per data maintained by The People's Chronicle based on IDSP and CCR reports, number of total cases in different districts are Imphal West (44,085), Imphal East (27,903), Thoubal (9489), Churachandpur (10,191), Kangpokpi (2788), Tamenglong (3284), Bishnupur (9232), Senapati (2249), Ukhrul (2998), Kakching (6450), Chandel (2365), Noney (1075), Tengnoupal (1077), Jiribam (1022), Kamjong (955) and Pherzawl (464) .
Fatality counts in different districts are Imphal West (668), Imphal East (479), Thoubal (178), Churachandpur (162), Kangpokpi (62), Tamenglong (14), Bishnupur (193), Senapati (10), Ukhrul (44), Kakching (115), Chandel (41), Noney (4), Tengnoupal (13), Jiribam (7), Kamjong (5) and Pherzawl (0) .
Data analysed by this daily shows that the rate of infection remains 40,486 confirmed cases per million population (based on projected population of 31,03,000 as per NCP report) against the national average of 24,818 CPM.
Test rate has improved to 4,66,314 tests per million population against the national average of 4,74,422 TPM.
Case fatality rate stands at 1.59 per cent.
In the past 24 hours, only 1206 samples were tested and the single day positivity rate was 1.16 per cent per cent while the cumulative positivity came down to 8.68 per cent.
