Covid warriors feted

Tamenglong, February 19 2021: In its efforts to reach out to the society, 44 Assam Rifles under the aegis of 22 Sector AR/IGAR (East) felicitated the Covid warriors, who worked hand in hand in spreading awareness and fighting the deadly COVID-19 pandemic at Tamenglong, today.

Addressing the programme, Commandant 44 Assam Rifles expressed his appreciation to Dr Chambo Gonmei, CMO Tamenglong and his medical team for the enriching session and assured to work hand in hand with them to battle the deadly pandemic, said a statement of IGAR (East).

He also highlighted various awareness campaigns being undertaken by the troops in various parts of the district and mentioned that the troops through posters, banners, plays, interactive sessions, consultative meetings and medical camps are engaged in spreading awareness against COVID-19.As a part of the programme, the District Health Society, Tamenglong also organised a training session for the medical staff of 44 Assam Rifles in Tamenglong, it added.

The interactive and practice session organised by Dr Sunil Kamei, DIO Tamenglong and his team of four doctors enabled the paramedical staff of the unit to conduct vaccination at the unit hospital as well as at the remote outposts.

An interactive session with the Covid warriors highlighted various issues related to the ongoing vaccination drive.
