Ukhrul, July 18 2024: Demanding swift completion of the ongoing drainage work and construction of a culvert at Mayophung village along NH-202 by August 20, the Mayophung Village Authority has threatened to launch a stir otherwise.

A press release issued by KS Ngaranmi, village headman, has lamented over the delayed construction work undertaken by the NHIDCL.

It added that the incomplete culvert and drainage work has led to flooding of roads during the recent monsoonal season which in turn has affected school going children and daily commuters alike.

The release also complained of the incomplete construction muddying roads and causing heavy dust pollution during sunny days and slipping/skidding hazard on rainy days.

Highlighting the significance of the particular road as a lifeline for the denizens of Ukhrul district, the press release has urged the State Government and concerned department to look into the matter and intervene swiftly.
