Anti-drug, security meets held

Imphal, July 18 2022:
Keithelmanbi Battalion of IGAR(S) organised an anti-drug coordination meeting in Thoubal district on Monday in continuation of the efforts of Assam Rifles to supplement the state government's war on drugs effort.
During the meet attended by representatives of Anjuman, All Lilong Anti-Drug Association (ALADA), meira paibi groups of Lilong and Arapati areas, Narao Rok (CSO) and IDO, various initiatives to combat the drug menace in the area were deliberated at length to put in place sustained and coordinated efforts, said a PRO IGAR (S) .
In another release, the PRO Informed that Loktak Batallion of IGAR (S) organised a Security and Coordination Meet at Komlakhong and Sendra in Imphal West and Bishnupur districts respectively on Monday.
The meet saw a healthy participation of village representatives including village authorities and youth.
The meet provided the platform to discuss and inform the villagers about the current political climate and need to uphold the security within the region.
Moreover, various career opportunities for the students in the defence forces and in sports were discussed.
Somsai Battalion Assam Rifles also conducted a security meet at Awang Kasom on Monday with the participation of 34 members of the village authority.
The security meet was conducted at the outset of the harvest festival to highlight security prospects with the view to generate awareness on security.
The meet figured discussions on varied aspects like present socio-political situation, education of youth, job opportunities like army recruitment and health awareness amidst unprecedented Covid situation.
