Congress suspends MLA Kh Joykisan

Thangmeiband AC MLA Kh Joykisan has been suspended from primary membership of the Indian National Congress (INC).
Manipur Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) general secretary (administration) Hareshwar Goswami issued an order in this effect on Tuesday.
Hareshwar told newspersons that the MLA was suspended from primary membership in accordance to the constitution of the party.
A show cause notice was served to him (Joykisan) on January 4 to explain his refusal to follow the rules of the party.
However, Joykisan did not give any response to the Committee.
Thus, as per the recommendation of the disciplinary action committee of the party and approval of MPCC president, it was decided to remove Joykisan from the primary membership of the party.
Hareshwar further re vealed that Joykisan did not attend any meetings of the party and also did not give any valid reason for his absence.
Thus, the party decided to take action against him, the general secretary said, while adding that the speaker of Manipur Legislative Assembly has been informed of this development in writing.
Responding to questions from the press, the general secretary said that as Thangmeiband MLA Kh Joykisan has been suspended, party ticket for the upcoming polls in respect of Thangmeiband AC will be allptted to another aspirant.
