Internationally renowned theatre director Ratan Thiyam has praised lyricist B Jayantakumar Sharma as someone who can enhanced the beauty of Manipuri language through his meticulous selection of words which many people thought are even death.
He was speaking at the releasing function of song album titled 'Panthougi Mangon Khenjonglang' penned by B Jayentakumar at the auditorium of MFDC here today.
The function was also attended by A Syam sharma, L Birendrakumar, Sagolshem Indrakumar and other renowned artistes as presidium members.

Ratan Thiyam further said when he looked upon the lyrical evolution of Manipuri modern songs; he felt there is similarity in the style of B Jayantakumar and Salim Choudhury, both of whom are very careful in selection of words for penning songs.
Indrakumar stated that songs which are cherished and mesmerized for more than 50 years are gems and that he felt happy when he was informed that B Jayentakumar has been also teaching and guiding young budding artistes.
B Jayentakumar said watching plays in MDU Hall became his hobby since schooling days and he was always drawn to every song in the drama.
