Kakching, May 17 2022: The inauguration ceremony of a newly constructed old age day care centre was held at Kakching Makha Leikai Children's Park today.

Padma Shri Awardee Moirangthem Muktanand Devi cut the ceremonial ribbon and handed over the centre to the elderly.

It is worth noting that Leichal Taret Foundation, Pune set up the centre as part of a project.

The event was attended by Padma Shri Awardee Moirangthem Muktamani Devi, Ashangbam Tababi Devi and legal advisor, Leichal Taret Foundation, Geetarani Takhellambam as presidium members.

Giving the keynote address, Geetarani Takhellambam said that there is a trend of declining emotional attachment between parents and their offsprings resulting from a change in lifestyle due to different work culture, migration and a slew of other reasons.

She added that the centre was established with the aim of providing a safe space for senior citizens to rest and unburden their minds.
