Imphal, January 17 2020: A one day legal awareness camp was held at Awang Sekmai Khunou Makha community hall today, under the aegis of Para Legal Volunteers Legal Aid Clinic Awang Sekmai Khunou Leikai, and under the sponsorship of District Legal Services Authority, Imphal West.

The camp was attended by Kh Anandi Devi, Chairperson of Sekmai Nagar Panchayat, Angom Rajesh, president of Sekmai Protection Committee, Thangjam Rakesh of Awang Sekmai Khunou Makha, Tombi Devi, Meira Paibi, Awang Sekmai Makha Meira Paibies and Kh Martha, Meira Paibi, Awang Sekmai Khunou Makha Meira Paibies.

During the legal awareness program, Keisham Dhane, Legal Aid Counsel of Imphal West, spoke on the topic of National Food Security Act 2013, POCSO Act 2012, fundamental duties, labour card and farmer card etc.

B Supriya Devi, Advocate and former general secretary of All Manipur Bar Association, spoke on the topic of crime against women, Prohibition of Child Marriage Act 2006 and Legal Services to Senior Citizens Scheme 2016 etc.
