National Integration Tour concludes

The 15 day National Integration Tour (NIT), flagged off on October 29 GOC Red Shield Division Maj Gen KK Sinha from Tamei concluded today after covering historical places of Delhi, Jaipur and Agra and interacting with distinguished personalities, including the President of India Dr Pranab Mukherjee.
According to a PIB (DW) release, the tour was coordinated and conducted by the Red Shield Division, with the single-minded objective of giving the youth from the remote regions of Tamenglong and Senapati, an opportunity to broaden their perspective towards the mainland and showcase the rich and diverse culture and heritage of the country.
The tour has also facilitated them to realise and take home positive developmental impressions from the mainland that could be implemented in their respective regions.
The 27 youth, who participated in the tour, had travelled out of Manipur for the first time and had the privilege to "visit Delhi, Jaipur and Agra.
The youth while in Delhi met and interacted with the President on November 3 and were encouraged by the President who reminded them that Manipur is an important State of India that is excelling in all spheres and that the youth have a tremendous responsibility to further the progress of the State.
The youth also met GOC Delhi Area Lt Gen Subroto Mitra on November 5 with the General expressing that Manipur is a picturesque State, with abundant natural resources and talented people.
He emphasised that the youth must foster peace and tranquillity in the region and must be a catalyst to the progress of the State.
The touring team visited Qutub Minar, India Gate, and Rajpath during the Delhi leg while at Jaipur, the pink city of the country, they visited Hawa Mahal, "The Palace of the Winds"; Jal Mahal, "The Water palace" located in middle of Man Sagar Lake in Jaipur; City Palace - the palace complex which includes Chandra Mahal and Mubarak Mahal palaces and Albert Hall Museum - the State Museum of Rajastan.
The NIT team also met Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot and the Army Commander (South Western Command) Lt Gen Gyan Bhushan, maintained the PIB (DW) release.
The youth on the conclusion of the 15 day tour, expressed their gratitude to the Army for their initiative and efforts for the smooth conduct of the tour, it informed.
