Bailey bridge inaugurated at CCpur

A bailey bridge constructed anew on Guite Road at Lungthul T within Singngat sub-division of Churachandpur district was inaugurated today.
Construction of the bailey bridge over Tuilak river has greatly improved road connectivity in the area.
The bailey bridge was constructed by Bharatia Infra Projects under NHIDCL.
The bailey bridge inaugurated today is 140 feet long and 11 feet wide and it can withstand 40 MT.
The inaugural function was attended by NHIDCL Imphal Project Manager O Sarvanjit, NHIDCL Site Engineer Amit Pratap Maurya, BIPL Senior Project Manager S Tiken, Site Engineer Khoirom Yakaiba, 2 Assam Rifles Subedar PD Das and villagers and chiefs of Lungthul T and T Khuplam.
Speaking at the gathering, O Sarvanjit said that Churachandpur-Singngat-Sinzawl-Tuivai (Mizoram) was declared as NH-102B by the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH) in 2016.Since then NHIDCL has been constructing the highway.
Construction of the highway is entrusted to three private firms after dividing it into three sections.
Saitya Builders is in charge of Churachandpur-Singngat section (34.50 Kms), BIPL handles Singngat-Mualnom section (68.60 Kms) while Garg & Sons has been constructing Mualnom-Tuivai section (58.40 Kms), Sarvanjit said.
The bridge inaugurated today was not included in the highway project.
Nonetheless, it was constructed after floating due tender as a special category considering its importance, he said.
S Tiken said that they started working on the highway section in August, 2016.The highway was so horrible at that time that it took 6 to 7 hours for one to travel from Singngat to Lungthul T .
Now the highway has improved considerably and the bailey bridge was constructed within one month, he said.
