CRPF distributes edibles to people in interior villages

86 Bn CRPF conducted a drive "Fight against COVID-19" in the wake of COVID-19 pandemic and its consequences due to lockdown in the deprived villages along NH-37 within AOR of 86 Bn CRPF.
The drive was launched under the aegis of Sh Arun Kumar Sharma, ADG, NE Zone HQR CRPF Guwahati and supervision of Sh Anshuman Yadav, IGP M&N sector, wherein Sh Kalyan Singha, Commandant of 86 Bn CRPF was assigned responsibility to conduct the drive in a befitting manner for distribution of essential commodities and hygienic items like hand sanitizer, mask, etc to the villagers, said a statement of 86 Bn CRPF.
After an intensive survey, the Commandant short-listed 800 families from Marangching Part I to V, Nungtek Part I &II, Tupul, Thingkhongjang , Charaipatongba Part II, Namdungjang, K Senam, T Laijang and Sehjang and distributed packet of essential commodities comprising of rice (6kg), mix pulses (1kg), onion (3.5kg ), potatoes (1kg), sugar (1kg), mustard oil (1litre), salt (1kg), hand sanitizer, mask and a hand wash, it added.
Saying that the motive of the drive was to provide assistance to people from remote areas suffering from the consequences of lockdown and to spread awareness about preventive measures against COVID-19, it added that brief guidelines on DOs and Don't were also announced in a local language to stop the spread of coronavirus.
The Commandant of 86 Bn CRPF said that during the drive essential commodities and hygienic items worth Rs 5,75,000 were distributed as relief materials to 800 families of various villages.
