Imphal, February 15 2020: Following the suspicious death of Sheikh Warish inside the toilet of Sector No 7, Manipur Central Jail, Sajiwa on February 12, the Additional Director General of Police (Prisons) has ordered the immediate suspension of three jail officials, namely Arambam Romesh Singh, Assistant Jailor of Manipur Central Jail, Sajiwa, Md Hamijuddin, Warden of District Jail, Chandel (now attached to Manipur Central Jail, Sajiwa) and K Titus TKL, Warden of District Jail, Chandel (now attached to Manipur Central Jail, Sajiwa) .

It may be mentioned that Sheikh Warish (24) s/o (L) Md Hessamuddin of Lilong Dam Makha was found hung to death inside the jail, after he had been remanded in judicial custody for his involvement in the alleged rape and murder of a 19 year old girl whose lifeless body was found at Irong Chesaba Achouba Thumu-kom on the morning of January 28 .
