Senapati, August 14 2020: In one of the biggest hauls of betel leaves (pan patta), Mao Gate COB of 34 Maram Battalion Assam Rifles impounded betel leaves being transported on a truck amounting to approximately Rs 3.6 crore today, reports our Senapati correspondent.

According to 34 AR sources, a truck with registration number NL-01-AE-3666 moving from Guwahati to Imphal carrying betel leaves was intercepted and handed over to Mao-gate Police Station for further disposal.

Locals have thanked the Assam Rifles team in preventing the transportation of such illegal items during the present pandemic.
