Chandel, July 14 2015 :
The Anal Lelruwl Tangpi (Anal Students Union) has expressed deep concern over the non- completion of 50 bedded District Hospital, Chandel even after 6 years of construction work.
ALT advises the stakeholders not to abandon the construction incomplete as it may prevent the many follow up developments from further implementation.
ALT appeals the stakeholders to speed up the work for timely completion.
The completion of the building is important, considering immense difficulties & grievances faced by the staff while accommodating patients.
At present, there is just one 30 bedded building.
Even though, ALT has brought this issue to the knowledge of the department concerned on number of times, nothing concrete has been initiated to complete the construction.
As per reliable source, all the district hospitals have completed the construction of 50-bedded buildings, except Chandel hospital..
It portrayed the district in a bad light as such, they must pay special attention on the pending work for its timely completion.
The Union may be compelled to resort to various forms of strikes & agitations in case the request made here is viewed as non-issue and ignored.
Meanwhile, ALT appeals to Minister of Health & Medical Department, Govt.of Manipur to depute a specialist doctor to district hospital, Chandel.
That as per government norms, at least one specialist doctor should be posted in the district hospital.
To prevent exodus of patients to other districts for treatment, the department is urged to address the issue.
