5 water supply schemes inaugurated

Imphal, March 14 2018: Altogether five water supply schemes taken up at Heingang, Luwangshangbam, Pangei, LeimachingandKakchingwere inaugurated today.

The rural water supply schemes of Heingang, Luwangshangbam and Pangei whose capacities are 0.25 MLD, 0.34 MLD and 0.71 MLD were taken up under the National Rural Drinking Water Supply Programme.

The three water supply schemes would be maintained with minimal tax collected from water consumers by the respective water and sanitation committees.

However, PHED will do major repairing if the need arises.

An inaugural function of the three water supply schemes was held today at Luwangshangbam Mayai Leikai community hall with PHE Minister L Dikho as chief guest.

Speaking at the gathering, Dikho hailed Heingang AC as one Assembly segment which has elected a visionary political leader.

He exuded confidence that the people of Heingang AC would always support different development programmes taken up by the Government.

Imphal East Zilla Parishad Adhyaksha P Bimola presided the function.

Chingai AC MLA Khasim Vashum, PHE Secretary Nidhi Kesarwani and Luwangshangbam Gram Panchayat Pradhan N Angou were also seated on the dais.
