Imphal, December 13 2024:
All occupations, regardless of whether it is farming or professional, first require research and then training.
Anything instant or sudden will have a hard time being successful, Imphal East deputy commissioner Khumanthem Diana has stated.
She made the statement as the chief guest at the "Technology showcasing cum Kisan Joshi" organised by Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), Imphal East under the Directorate of Extension Education, Central Agricultural University, Imphal at its KVK, Imphal East campus on Friday.
The programme was attended by KVK, Imphal East senior scientist and head Dr Pra-bhabati Devi as president, and Tulihal GP ZP nominee Maibam Sabitri Devi, DAO Imphal East Ph Premila Devi and Directorate of Extension Education, CAU director Prof Ph Ranjit Sharma as guests of honour.
In her speech, DC Diana said that to achieve success in something, one needs to do ample research to understand the field they want to step in.
The same applies in the agriculture sector.
Farmers should consult with experts and participate in related trainings to apply the scientific methods and technologies for better production and ensuring the fields remain green all year round.
She continued that farmers can contact the department concerned or CAU, or the nearest KVK in case of any difficulty and urged for availing the benefits/re'sources available.
The DC also urged for focussing on organic farming, considering its rising demand over the years, while further availing the various schemes launched by the central and state governments.
As part of the week long observance of Krishi Samridhi Swarna Week-2024 organised in connection with the golden jubilee celebration of KVK by KVK Imphal East, various agricultural technologies were demonstrated and stalls by entrepreneurs opened on the occasion.
Two leaflets related to the event were released, along with winter seeds, 2L mini sprayer pumps and solar driers were distributed to the farmers.
