12 fresh cases take Covid tally to 183

Imphal, August 13 2022:
On Saturday, 12 fresh Covid cases were detected out of 336 samples tested in the state.
Of the 12 new cases, 11 are from general population and one from Central Armed Police Force, taking the number of active cases in the state to 183 .
Out of 11 new cases (6 males and 5 females), Imphal East topped the list with 5 cases, followed by Imphal West with three cases and Thoubal, Chandel and Kakching districts with one case each.
In all, 53 people recovered from the viral disease on Saturday with 17 discharged from home isolation, one from RIMS, four from JNIMS, two CAPF, while backlogged discharged cases accounted for 29.There are 28 beds vacant in the 38-bedded Covid facility at JNIMS while 52 out of 62 Covid beds in RIMS are vacant.
So far, the state has recorded 2,244 positive cases and 23 fatalities since the beginning of the fourth wave of the pandemic.
The current month has reported 418 new positive cases and 14 deaths.
A total of 36 D-type Oxygen cylinders were made available to different health facilities on Thursday, while 2,936 vaccine doses were administered, taking the cumulative number of vaccinated population to 31,44,258 out of which 16,23,175 have been inoculated with first dose, 12,94,069 with second dose and 2,27,014 with precautionary doses.
