PFA continues animal rescue mission

Imphal, July 13 2014:
People for Animal (PFA), Thoubal rescued one Assam Leaf Turtle from Chingmeirong on Saturday.
The turtle was handed over by one Alani Shongsir, Mission Secretary of Manipur Baptist Convention who found it at his paddy field at Japhao in Chandel.
Before handing over the turtle to PFA, Alani and his wife had fed the animal with snails and small fishes bought from market.
In another effort, one Khundongbam Romen of Yaiskul Chingakham Leikai handed over a young common cobra which he found near his house.

The venomous snake was later released at a suitable site, a PFA release informed.
One Tokay Gecko was also rescued from Pombikhok Ching Leikai.
The young Gecko was found by one Elangbam Prem who is a newspaper hawker.
He and his friend Thouchom Ibochouba released the Gecko to a hillock yesterday, according to the release.
Meanwhile, one Laishram Inaobi of Wangkhem Mayai leikai personally visited PFA office and handed over a young Leaf Turtle, which he bought from a certain vegetable seller at 600 rupees from Ukhrul recently.
