Ukhrul observes World Day Against Child Labour

Ukhrul, June 13 2019:
Childline1098, Ukhrul run by FXB India Suraksha observed World Day against Child Labour at NERCOMP/UDCRMS conference hall, Viewland, Ukhrul yesterday.
The day was observed to raise awareness and to allow children participation in the movement to eradicate child labour and violation of child rights in their respective community.
The children were enlightened on their roles and responsibilities in their families, communities, institutions and in the country in order to have dignified life.
Different form of abuses against children, preventive measures and redressal mechanisms were highlighted during the programme.
As a part of the observation, a slogan making competition for the participating children was also held while slogans to stop Child Labour were raised as well.
FXB India Suraksha is a collaborative partner of the Ministry of Women and Child Development, GoI to run Childline helpline service (1098) in Ukhrul district.
The 24*7 helpline service was initiated in March, 2019 with the objective to respond to the problem of child abuse, protection or any related distressed call.
Nine Adolescent clubs from different schools, shelter homes, Churches, department officers including Ringyaso Shimray, Protection Office, DCPU, Margaret Siri, Member CWC, FXBIS team and over 60 children participated in the programme.
