Dimapur, March 13 2022:
The editorial of the latest edition of NSCN-IM's mouthpiece, "Nagalim Voice" has asserted that Nagas will stand by the Naga constitution' (Yehzabo), and that they will not compromise on Naga flag as well.
The mouthpiece of NSCN IM, which was released on Sunday, said that no people with self-respect would take the "treacherous step" to forego the national flag just to expedite the process of Naga political solution.
The editorial mentioned that the Naga people's spirit of patriotism should not be confronted in such a manner to "undermine our love of Naga nation" .
It also said, 'We have come a long way hoisting and waving the Naga national flag which is associated with patriotism and national identity".
The NSCN-IM's mouthpiece also stated that the "national flag of Nagalim" represents the nation as an entity.
According to the mouthpiece, the Naga flag represents the political struggle of the Naga people who are being held under forceful occupation by the Indian armed forces.
"It represents the love of the Naga people for freedom.
It represents the enormous amount of effort, dedication and hard work.
It represents how the Nagas have poured their blood, sweat and tears to stand by the God's given national identity as a Naga nation," the mouthpiece added.
The NSCN-IM mouthpiece continued that the Government of India's representative for Naga peace talks, AK Mishra may take his time to come to Nagaland to strike a deal with the "Naga Political Groups" .
It also said that the stand of the National Socialist Council of Nagalim (NSCN-IM), is however loud and clear that "we are not going to destroy our history at this crucial stage by betraying our identity and surrender before the Government of India".
It added that such a deed "which is wicked and abominable" to the Nagas would never be done.
The NSCN-IM mouthpiece also said that the Government of India should be sensitive and not resort to political cruelty on the Nagas hoping against hope that the Nagas will eventually succumb to the pressure or temptation.
"Such a far- fetched pressure is exercised in futility.
For the same reason, the Nagas will stand by the Naga constitution (Yehzabo)," it added.
