Tricolour hoisted atop Koubru as HCT campaign intensifies

The Indian National Flag was hoisted atop Mount Koubru as part of the Har Ghar Tiranga (HGT) campaign, which was also organised in different parts of the state on Thursday.
The Koubru event was organised by Kangpokpi district administration in collaboration with the Nehru Yuva Kendra, Kangpokpi and Kangpokpi Forest Division.
The team consisting of people from various government departments led by deputy commissioner Kengoo Zuringla, climbed Mount Koubru from early morning and hoisted the natiohal flag.
DC Zuringla said that the idea behind hoisting the Indian national flag atop the Mount Koubru was to celebrate the spirit of freedom and to be grateful to the motherland.
She called on the citizens to participate in the celebration of the Independence Week (August 11-17) .
The national flags were also hoisted at various government department offices and schools in the district.
In Pherzawl district, the HGT campaign led by SDO Tipaimukh/Vangai I Dineshkumar Singh started on Thurs -day morning at the district headquarters.
As part of the campaign, a flag rally from the DC Office Complex to the Village Square was held with the participation of public, CSOs and philan thropic organisations.
Earlier, drawing competitions on Har Ghar Tiranga were conducted in schools under ZEO, Pherzawl on August 9 while banners provided by DIPR were put on display at DC office complex, DC camp office in Churachandpur, CMO office, SP office, SDO office in Parbung and Vangai.
Mention may be made that since August 2, the deputy commissioner has handed over 3000 national flags to be hoisted at homes across the district and another 236 national flags for Anganwadi centres, government & private schools/institutions and others.
In Tengnoupal district, deputy commissioner Mannuamching led the Har Ghar Tiranga campaign by distributing the national flags to commuters and transporters of goods on the National Highway No 1 on Thursday.
The district level officers and staff of different departments participated in the distribution and pasting of posters in government offices, educational institutions and along the highway.
As a part of the campaign, essay competitions were also held for students of government aided and private schools.
Joining the Har Ghar Tiranga campaign, the Kamjong district administration has so far distributed 6491 national flags to the officials of various departments and the public Posters provided by DIPR have been displayed at the DC office complex and all the district level offices.
As part of the campaign, the office of Zonal Education Officer, Kamjong has been organising a series of school events in all the government, government-aided and private schools of the district to instil a spirit of patriotism.
Starting since August 8, various school-level competitions in painting, essay writing, slogan writing, debate and song have been conducted.
As part of the celebration of 75 years of India's independence, BJP and BJYM Langthabal Mandal organised a motorcycle rally on Har Ghar Tiranga Mission on Thursday.
Speaking to the media prior to flagging off the rally, Langthabal MLA Karam Shyam informed that with the coming of Independence Day it is time that all the people in the country unite as one and strive for accelerating development.
While pointing out that hoisting of the national flag was earlier limited to government offices only, he said the parliament has now permitted to hoist the flag everywhere.
While appealing the public to support PM Modi's Har Ghar Tiranga campaign and hoist the national flag at their homes, he urged political parties not to politicise the celebration of independence.
On the other hand, Regional College, Chajing NSS Unit volunteers along with the teachers and MLA Karam Shyam planted saplings at Heibok hill ranges as part of Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav.
