Kakching, December 09 2019: Communist Party of India (CPI), Kakching Local Council has resolved to take active participation in all protest movements staged against the contentious Citizenship Amendment Bill (CAB) .

Speaking to media persons during a press meet held at the Council's office today, a secretariat member of the CPI Kakching Local Council, Yengkhom Dhananjoy alleged that the legislation which aims to grant Indian Citizenship to the non-Muslim communities from Afghanistan, Pakistan and Bangladesh based on religion completely violates the principle of Indian Constitution.

Saying that CPI Kakching will always oppose the Bill which has the potential to wipe out the indigenous people of North East India from their lands, he urged all concerned to lend their helping hands in the fight against the contentious Bill.
