Imphal, August 09 2022: Eight persons who have failed to produce their proper verification identity proofs were detained during a surprise cordon and search operation by a team of Imphal West Commandos at Thangal Bazar area today and were handed over to City Police Station for proper verification.

The surprise cordon and search operation was carried out at Dharmasala of Thangal Bazar side covering Kasturi crossing ,Yaima store stretch, Gurudwar and Alu gali areas today evening as a part of the preventive and security measures taken up by Imphal West Commando led by Inspector P Achouba, OC Imphal West Commando under the command of M Amit, Additional SP Operation.

During the cordon and search operation more than 130 persons were verified.
