Imphal, February 09 2020: Newly elected office bearers of Democratic Students Alliance of Manipur (DESAM) were sworn in by titular king Leishemba Sanajaoba at the royal palace today.

Newly elected DESAM president Nameirakpam Edison said the new office bearers will follow in the footsteps of their predecessor and continue to work for the students and society.

Titular king Leishemba Sanajaoba in his speech expressed the need to create a sense of patriotism amongst the new generation in order to remedy the various social issues witnessed in Manipur.

Amongst the newly elected office bearers who were sworn in were newly elected DESAM president Nameirakpam Edison, vice-president Oinam Shital, general secretary Leishangthem Lamyanba Meitei, secretary (organization and coordinator) Nongthombam Thoithoiba and secretary (finance and account) Thiyam Birjit.
