Maoist wishes Sharmila on International Human Rights Day

The proscribed UG group, Maoists Communist Party Manipur has conveyed its greeting to human rights activist Irom Chanu Sharmila on the occasion of the International Human Rights Day and encouraged her to continue her relentless fight against human rights violations, according to a press statement of the outfit today.
In the statement, the outfit asserted that the India government and its security forces in alliance with the state security forces have been terrorising the innocent people of Manipur in the name of counter insurgency operations.
Many innocent lives have been killed by the security forces in the state.
Despite threats from the 'imperialist government' and 'its mercenaries', people of the state have been struggling for their rights as enshrined in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.
The statement also appealed to the people of the state to support and encourage the struggle of Irom Chanu Sharmila and raise their voice against the violation of the human rights.
