Huge cache of arms, ammunition recovered

Imphal, October 08 2015: A team of Thoubal Police Commando on Thursday morning recovered huge number of arms and ammunition hidden by suspected UGs at Uyan Terapokpi under Thoubal Police Station.

Police source said a team of Thoubal Police Commando rushed at Uyan Terapokpi at around 6 am and searched the area after getting information of the presence of UG cadres.

During the search operation numbers of arm and ammunition were found hidden inside earth at one paddy field.

They were well covered with plastics.

The recovered items include one lethod gun with four shells, two 9mm pistol with six live rounds, three cakes of TNT bomb, six gelatin sticks, 56 live rounds of AK 47, one Chinese hand grenade, one rocket shell, one detonator with four fuses, three fuse wires, electric wire ten meters fitted with two clips and one kg of nail.

An FIR has been lodged at Thoubal Police Station and started investigation.
