2nd day of relay hunger strike of MACS staffs

The agitating employees of Manipur State AIDS Control Society (MACS) continue with their relay hunger strike for the second consecutive day at RD Wing, Lamphel here today.
As part of the all-India strike called by All India AIDS Employees' Association, Manipur State AIDS Control Society Employees' Association (MACSEA) launched an indefinite cease work strike from January 30 .
But no positive response has been received from the authorities; the relay hunger strike began since yesterday.
Today, MLA of Sagolband A/C R.K.Imo visited RD Wing Lamphel and meet employees who are on relay hunger strike.
Representatives of MACSEA submit a 7-point charter of demands to the MLA and narrated how National AIDS Control Organisation (NACO) has failed to redress employees's grievances in the light of the National AIDS Control Programme (NACP) phase IV which is due to launch formally later this month.
MACSEA lamented that Chief Minister Okram Ibobi Singh, who is also the chairman of governing body of MACS, refuses to give time to meet representatives of the Association.
