3 killed, 13 hurt in road accidents

Imphal, September 06 2012:
At least 3 people were killed and 13 others sustained injuries in different road related accidents which occurred at different parts of the state in the last 24 hours.
The injured have been admitted to different hospitals of the state.
The second driver of a Tata Dipper was killed while 5 other people were wounded when the Tata Dipper met with an accident at Khambirol under Nungba Police Station at around 3 pm yesterday.
The deceased has been identified as Manish Guwala (19) s/o Madan Guwala of Lakhipur, Assam.
The injured persons have been treated in nearby health centres.
The dead body was brought to RIMS mortuary where post mortem was conducted today.
In another road accident which took place near Kongba Soudongbung ground at around 10:30 am yesterday, a Maruti car 800 ran over a person.
The victim identified as Abdul Rahit (50), s/o late Md Jamarudin of Keirao Makting Awang Leikai was rushed to JN Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries later on.
A case has been registered by the Porompat Police in this connection.
Meanwhile, one Aphunna, s/o late Gaikhongjing of Thangmeiband Muji Khul, who has been undergoing treatment at Shija Hospital after being hit by a car near Thangmeiband THAU ground succumbbed to his injuries last midnight.
In yet road accident, two persons were injured in a head on collision between two 2-wheelers.The injured identified as RB Ranjan (55) of Chennai but presently staying at MU and L Basanta (37), s/o late Bala of Narankonjil, have been admitted to RIMS hospital.
Three girls coming on a Nova-130 also met with an accident at the Traffic Point of Nityaipat Chuthek while another three girls coming in another Nova-130 also met with an accident at Keishampat Junction Traffic Point.
All six of them were treated at RIMS.
