Ukhrul-Tengnoupal to be made alternative NH

Imphal, April 06 2015 : The Centre has sought 'no objection report' from the State Government for developing the Ukhrul-Tengnoupal road into a National Highway.

"The Centre will be focusing on upgrading the UKhrul-Tengnoupal road to a National Highway," a PWD official told Hueiyen Lanpao on Monday.

This comes one day after the Works Minister Dr Kh Ratankumar officially disclosed that Imphal-Mayang Imphal road was to be made alternative National Highway soon.

He said, "The Centre has asked the State Government to prepare a no objection report as well as details of the Ukhrul-Tengnoupal road." Tengnoupal is a subdivision of Chandel district.

The Works Department has started preparing the detailed report to be submitted to the Centre for the planned NH which is to link Ukhrul, Tengnoupal and Moreh, the official informed.
