Imphal, December 05 2024: In connection with observance of the World Day for Persons with Disabilities, Assam Rifles Wives' Welfare Association (ARWWA) donated wheelchairs to two young girls with physical disabilities.

The presentation was led by ARWWA regional president Navjeet Kaur Kamboj.

The beneficiaries include a child with cerebral palsy and another with bilateral muscular atrophy, each receiving a wheelchair designed to improve their mobility and foster greater independence.

Addressing the gathering, Navjeet said, "Empowering differently-abled individuals is not just about providing physical aid but extending a sense of confidence and belonging in society.

ARWWA remains committed to making a positive difference in their lives".

The event highlighted the significance of nurturing an inclusive society and reiterated the Assam Rifles' holistic approach to welfare, reaching beyond conventional boundaries to serve the communities it protects, said a PRO IGAR (S) release.
