Font size for statutory warning on alcohol beverages advised

Imphal, March 05 2019: The required font size for putting the statutory warnings namely, "Consumption of alcohol is injurious to health", "Be safe- Don't drink and drive", on alcoholic beverages has been advised.

An order issued by FSA designated officer Imphal East on March 1, notified that the respective font size for the statutory warning of 200 ml alcoholic beverages should not be less than 1.5 mm while alcoholic beverages above 200 ml should carry the warning not less than the font size of 3 mm.

The notification which was issued following a directive of Food Security and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) on February 5, has further advised that all alcoholic beverages should carry the statutory warnings at the given font size from April 1 .
