Kala Utsav team leaves Imphal

Imphal, December 04 2015 : Manipur's Kala Utsav team left Imphal on Friday to participate in the National Level Kala Utsav, 2015 scheduled to be held in New Delhi from December 8 to 11 .

The team comprised of 36 students and six teachers was flagged off by Education Minister Moirangthem Okendro from his office located at the Secretariat North Block.

The students were selected from the State Level Kala Utsav held earlier at MFDC Auditorium, Palace Compound.

The representatives of the State will participate in dance, music, visual arts and theatre during the National Level Kala Utsav.

Students of Senapati District will represent the State in music while students of Bishnupur, Imphal East and Imphal West will represent the State in theatre, visual arts and dance respectively.

The National Level Kala Utsav is being held for the first time by the Human Resource Development (HRD) Ministry with an aim to hunt hidden talents within the student community of higher secondary level.

The State representatives will leave Delhi on December 13 after attending the closing ceremony on December 11 .
