State logs two deaths, 55 new cases

Imphal, November 02 2021:
The state on Tuesday reported two new death cases and 55 new positive cases out of 1834 samples tested in the last 24 hours and registered a positivity rate of 3 per cent against Monday's 4.5 per cent.
The two victims were residents of Imphal East and Imphal West district and both were unvaccinated.
The two fatalities took the tally of deaths from Covid-19 in the state to 1925.Out of the 16 districts, nine reported Covid cases on Tuesday with Imphal West reporting highest cases at 31 .
In terms of positivity rate, Tengnoupal district recorded highest single day positivity rate at 9.2 per cent while Bishnupur district recorded lowest positivity rate at 1.4 per cent.
Churachandpur, Jiribam, Kamjong, Kangpokpi, Pherzawl, Senapati and Tamenglong districts did not report any new positive cases.
The active caseload came down to 704 out of which 85 (12.07 per cent) are in home isolation, 190 (26.99 per cent) in CCCs, and 191 (27.13 per cent) in hospitals while whereabouts of 238 patients (33.81 per cent) are not known as all the CHICs have been shut down.
Among the hospitalised patients, 53 are admitted to ICU/HDU wards, 38 are on oxygen support and 20 on ventilator support.
However, there is no report on the number of patients on oxygen and ventilator support from JNIMS even though it has 96 patients.
On the other hand, there is one patient on oxygen support in a CCC.
There is no updated information regarding bed availability but as of Monday evening, 688 beds including 127 ICU/HDU beds were available in different hospitals, 2488 beds in different Covid Care Centres and 449 beds (29 ICU/HDU) in district hospitals and CHCs.
So far, the state has recorded 94,442 positive cases and 1551 fatalities since the beginning of the second wave of the pandemic, out of which 439 new cases and 10 fatalities were added in the last seven days alone.
The current month reported 111 new positive cases and four death cases.
According to official reports, the 55 new positive cases include 52 people (20 male & 32 female) are from among the general population and 3 personnel of Central Armed Police Force (CAPF) whose status of infection were confirmed at RIMS (5), JNIMS (4) and other testing centres (46).The positive cases from among the general population are from Imphal East (5), Imphal West (31), Thoubal (2), Bishnupur (1), Kakching (1), Ukhrul (2), Chandel (2) and Tengnoupal (8).All necessary measures like containment and contact tracing are in place.
In the last 24 hours, 61 persons were discharged from home isolation (13), JNIMS (8) and CCCs (40) .
The cumulative number of positive cases has reached 1,23,842 (general population - 1,19,505 and CAPF personnel - 4,337) .
Number of recovered cases is 1,21,213 (general population - 1,16,894 and CAPF personnel - 4,319) and number of active cases is 704 (general population - 691 and CAPF personnel - 13) .
The recovery rate is 97.88 per cent.
A total of 353 D-type and 46 B-type Oxygen cylinders have been made available to different health facilities in the last 24 hours.
At the same time, 8574 vaccine doses were administered on Monday which took the cumulative number of vaccinated persons to 12,50,254 including 7,27,227 fully vaccinated individuals.
As per data maintained by The People's Chronicle based on IDSP and CCR reports, number of total cases in different districts are Imphal West (43,164), Imphal East (27,420), Thoubal (9444), Churachandpur (10,140), Kangpokpi (2780), Tamenglong (3278), Bishnupur (9156), Senapati (2229), Ukhrul (2945), Kakching (6400), Chandel (2335), Noney (1068), Tengnoupal (1065), Jiribam (1022), Kamjong (932) and Pherzawl (464).Fatality counts in different districts are Imphal West (640), Imphal East (458), Thoubal (174), Churachandpur (161), Kangpokpi (61), Tamenglong (13), Bishnupur (190), Senapati (10), Ukhrul (39), Kakching (111), Chandel (39), Noney (4), Tengnoupal (13), Jiribam (7), Kamjong (5) and Pherzawl (0) .
Data analysed by this daily shows that the rate of infection remains 39,910 confirmed cases per million population (based on projected population of 31,03,000 as per NCP report) against the national average of 24,526 CPM.
Test rate has improved to 4,41,751 tests per million population against the national average of 4,36,461 TPM.
Case fatality rate stands at 1.55 per cent while the cumulative positivity came down to 9.03 per cent.
